TRAVIS SHUMAKE BECOMES THE FIRST GAY NHRA RACER, GETS SPONSORED BY GRINDR
The NHRA (not NASCAR, but similar), which sets rules in drag racing (race car, not drag queen race) and hosts events all over the United States and Canada , with over 40,000 drivers in its rosters welcomes its first (out of the closet) gay man, Travis Shumake.
Just like Josh Cavallo of the Adelaide United in football (“soccer” for our US readers lol), another hyper masculine sport, Travis Shumake is making a name for himself for having enough balls to also compete as a dick lover.
And they are not the only ones, in June 2021, Las Vegas Raiders player Carl Nassib announced that he is gay, making him the first openly gay active NFL player. Nashville Predators player Luke Prokop became the first openly gay NHL player this month, after coming out in July.

Indeed, his first sponsors are neither lungs killers (cigarettes) nor a disgusting soda brand, but queer social network Grindr.
Shumake, who, by the way, is a cutie, says: “As a gay man in America’s oldest conservative Motorsport, authentic representation matters. At 280 MPH (450km/h!), I’m proud to be turning heads and raising eyebrows with Grindr as a partner”. Werq!
Kudos to Travis and Grindr for this clever partnership.

Will this be enough to spark some interest in us in drag racing?
